NeW TO SUMMIT?

A church can be an intimidating place to visit, especially if you don't know what to expect. At our weekend services, we invite you to experience what the Gospel means spiritually, intellectually and relationally. We hope that through your visit with us, you will experience the hope, love, and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.

A typical weekend service at Summit Church is about 75 minutes long and consists of several elements: a warm welcome, engaging music from our worship band, and a challenging message, usually from our lead pastor, Dan Miller, or one of our other pastors. Our Sunday worship times are 9AM and 10:45AM.

What to Expect

We want to do everything possible to welcome you and provide an environment where you can connect with God and be introduced to our faith community. We've tried to answer some frequent questions to help you know what to expect...

What will my experience be like?

Welcoming. When you visit, you will be greeted by volunteers before you even get inside the building. We'll do our best to help you find everything you need. From there you can grab a cup of coffee and find a seat in our Worship Center. Everything from the music to the message is meant to help you engage with God.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable. While most people tend to land around business casual, you will probably see anything from shorts and sandals to suits and ties. Our worship gatherings are important to us, so we often dress up, but we encourage you to be yourself!

What's the music like?

Upbeat and inspiring. Our band is made up of guitars, drums, and keys. We don't have a choir. We sing songs that allow us to sing from our hearts and connect with God; they are modern, founded in God's Word, and easy to understand. Our goal is that people participate in worship rather than watch a performance.

Do my kids sit with me?

That is up to you! If you don't want to be away from your kids, they are welcome to sit with you in the Worship Center. However, we offer a safe and age-appropriate worship experience in Summit Kids for infants through 3rd grade every Sunday. This gives your kids the opportunity to meet others their age and worship God at their level. It also gives you the freedom to relax, knowing they are in good hands. When you arrive, just look signs for the Summit Kids check-in area and our volunteers will assist you from there. Preteens (4th & 5th grade) have their own group in the meeting rooms at 10:45AM.

Will they ask me for money?

No. We don't pass an offering plate. If you're new to our church, keep your wallets put away. We just want you to come and experience God with us. We invite those who call this church their home to support us financially, and worship through giving, as God leads.

What is the teaching like?

A relevant and relatable interpretation of God's Word. You will usually hear a message from our lead pastor, Dan Miller, or one of our other pastors. We believe strongly in God's Word, so every message is full of truth from the Bible. We do our best to present it in a way that is fresh, easy to understand, and meets you right where you are. Messages typically last 30-40 minutes. Our hope is that you will be challenged and inspired to go and live out God's plan for your life.

What does your church believe?

We've outlined our core beliefs here. Beliefs can either unite us or divide us. At Summit, we make an effort to focus on those beliefs that we share, rather than the differences we may have.

Weekends and beyond

Teaching:

Our Sunday morning messages are practical and applicable truths straight from the Bible. The Word of God is the most important tool in our spiritual walk with Christ, and our teachings strive to honor it and help you understand how to apply it in your daily life.

Worship:

Worship is something we can do individually, but God places special importance on believers worshiping together. Sunday mornings are the time when we come together with fellow Christ followers to celebrate what God is doing among us. We take time to share life with each other, break bread together (Communion), worship together through singing, as well as spend time praying for each other.

For the Kids:

At Summit, we love engaging with children and teaching them about the love of Jesus. The best way to do that is to provide an age-appropriate worship environment for them called Summit Kids. Newborns and children up through 3rd grade can participate in Summit Kids during either or both of our worship times.

For the Preteens:

4th and 5th grade students are invited to participate in Summit Preteen. This is an important time of transition for many students and parents. Summit Preteen offers dynamic biblical teaching and answers those questions every preteen seems to have.

For the Teens:

We invite our students from 6th-12th grade to participate in our Sunday worship experiences. We believe they are a valuable part of our church and we invite them to engage at an adult level. We also offer a Christ-centered experience where our young people can engage with their peers called Summit Youth.

Life Groups:

Church is about more than a Sunday morning gathering. Life Groups are groups of people within Summit that gather together outside of a Sunday morning in order to build relationships and grow in their faith together. Life Groups usually meet in someone's home, and are typically comprised of 8-12 people.
